The DSII-L is without a doubt one of the very best shift lights available today having a Super Tiny profile of 13mm X 61mm (.5in X 2.4in) and weighing a mere 55 grams (1.9oz) complete with loom. Within the 100% Carbon Fiber case is  a full Microprocessor sampling your RPM signal in 16bit resolution at 0.0000045 of a second (222,222 times per second).

The core difference between the DSII and the DSII-L is that the latter has a Launch Control feature and as such can interface with the Gizzmo Launch Interface. The other main difference is that the DSII-L has a White LED outside ring and a Blue center pre-shift LED.
In addition to this there a 3 intensity settings so that you won't get blinded at night or not see it on a bright summers day. The DSII-L also is touch sensed so there are no switches or buttons, you simply touch it with your finger and it will react immediately.

Gizzmo's Launch Controller Interface 2 (LI-2) integrates with the Gizzmo DSII-L or Tach Recall Shiftlight to enable the fully adjustable launch control function. The launch control function induces sequential misfire events at the desired rpm set by the user. And new for the LI-2 is an adjustable Ignition Retard Function for massive boost potential on launch!
Gizzmo’s NEW LI2 Launch Interface II is the next generation of Launch Interface, housing the fastest processor we have ever used on anything and more triggering options to make launching easier and better than ever before.
In a turbo application, having the throttle open while inducing misfire increase the velocity and density of exhaust gases, allowing the turbo to spool up and generate boost with load. This results in boost being generated before launching and therefore allowing a vehicle to launch with considerably more power.
The ignition cut is clutch activated allowing flat changing (the ability to change gear without removing your foot from the throttle). With the clutch engaged the rpm will pull back to the launch rpm previously set by the user in order to avoid over revving, this results in the vehicle not coming off boost while moving through the gears.
Launch control can benefit natural aspirated cars by giving a consistent launch rpm for best results every time, and enable quicker gear changes through flat changing.

Each headphone can be independently configured with the included Gizzmo KMon software to listen to different knock sensors simultaneously; e.g. on a RB26DETT you could configure the left headphone to the front of the motor and the right headphone to the sensor on the rear of the motor or on the LS1 V8, one sensor could be used for the right bank and another for the left bank.

There are two headphone jacks for the convenience of training a tuner or a second set of ears when tuning. The knock sensors used for the Gizzmo Kmon are the Bosch donut type that allow a 10mm threaded bolt through the center for easy mounting. The software allows you to tailor the knock channels individually to the motor in addition to setting up the headphones as you desire. It is also possible to set the headphones up so that they are silent until a warning threshold is reached e.g. you can set a warning level of 60% and if this threshold is exceeded the headphones will emit a loud, sharp buzz.

Gizzmo KMon Knock Detection, Monitor and Analysis Kit


After the software has been configured you can shut down the software and just plug in the Gizzmo Kmon (to a USB2 port) whenever you need it; the Gizzmo Kmon will always just return to your settings each time it is plugged in.

The Kmon also has two analog outputs so that you can log the knock levels into a dyno, ECU or datalogging tables for comparisons against air fuel ratio, turbo boost etc.

On the side of the Kmon are 4 LED’s; one indicates power, one flashes showing communications and 2 ultra bright LED’s illuminate if the knock threshold (previously explained) has been exceeded. Gizzmo's Tach Recall Shiftlight is a unique dual stage shiftlight, which incorporates the features of many aftermarket tachometers/rev counters into most any stock OEM rev counters.
